For the newest of players who may also be children, I usually begin teaching out of The Yamaha Advantage series for beginners. Once the student has demonstrated a strong understanding of the fundamentals of brass playing, I will begin introducing them to different solos, scales, and other repertoire in the hopes that they may want to perform in competition or recital. My teaching experience has grown tremendously since being a teacher's assistant when I was in high school. I have been consistently involved with teacher music since my graduation from high school in 2007. In the Fort Wayne, IN area, I have worked with marching, jazz, and concert bands with multiple middle and high schools. I also have experience teaching smaller ensembles and private lessons. I have been teaching privately since 2014, and have taught students with a wide variety of ages and abilities. Watching my students succeed brings me a great sense of satisfaction knowing that they are becoming more confident in their skills. Students of mine have gone on to compete at the District, Area, Region and State level, in addition to gaining admittance to collegiate music degree programs.
