I am a passionate instructor with high energy who loves working with beginning to advanced students. In 2011, I graduated from Indiana University Fort Wayne with a Bachelor of Music Education. Although education and teaching was my focus, I excelled in music performance as well. I have performed across the Midwest with the Premiere Wind Ensemble from my university and have had the privilege to perform professionally with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing my students develop a passion for the trumpet and music. Therefore, it is very important to me that I make the lessons both fun and productive for the students. I will gear my teaching style to whatever works best for the individual student. I also like to have students complete written theory assignments, and, to help students from getting bored, I often "reward" them with single pieces of fun sheet music that can be performed for recitals and competitions. As a teacher it has always been my goal to inspire my students to connect with music in a meaningful way. I do this by teaching at each students' own pace and setting acheivable goals along the way to encourage progress and to create an atmosphere where my students are able to succeed. There is no greater joy that seeing a student take on a challenge and conquer it. It is that positive feeling of success that motivates my students to continue taking lessons and learning which is amazing to see. Read More

It's my goal to meet a student where they are, and maintain a big-picture mentality. I like to know what other interests they have so that I can draw parallels between those and music. While I am demanding of my students, I set high standards only because I am confident in a student's abilities. Watching potential become reality is rewarding for both student and teacher, and that happens more quickly with high levels of accountability. Read More
