I am a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. In 2007, I graduated from Roosevelt University with a Master of Music degree in Saxophone Performance. I don't perform professionally, but I do play in a few community bands throughout the Chicagoland area. In 2004, I graduated from VanderCook College of Music with my Bachelor of Music Education degree. For beginner saxophone students, I taught them basic saxohone skills for couple lessons, and I will choose either Rubank method or Jazz Phrasing by Greg Fishman according to students' interests. For beginner flute and clarinet students, I taught them long tones and scales in the beginning, and then I will use method book such as Rubank or Rose to help them enjoy to play these two instruments. For intermediate or higher level saxohpone players, I will design the individual lesson according to student's level, the lesson will combine of technique, chord scale exercise, ear trainning, improvisation, and tune learning. I'm a professional musician and educator who has lived in Chicagoland with my wife and two boys for the last 18 years. I'm originally from Columbus, Ohio and received my BM from Capital University there. From there I was Music Director for one of Royal Caribbean's ships and then I made the move to Chicago in mid-1996.
