For beginning students who are children, I typically start with the Standard of Excellence Method Book 1. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of those fundamentals, I will begin to introduce other method books and solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. Fundamentals will still be a major part of every lesson even after the student has grasp them. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lesson engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More

I am currently still in school for teaching, so I am hooping that I can gain true practice teaching privately. I have always helped my band directors teach my clarinet sections during tryout sessions. Aside from musical technique, I also plan to offer my students support in all aspects of their lives.
