Setting goals and tracking progress are essential to learning an instrument. I will work with the student to set goals for each lesson and show them great ways to track their progress as they practice throughout the week. Lessons are very highly structured and focused on helping the students grow as much as possible. While I don't have much experience teaching instruments (yet!!!), I have been teaching for a long time. Dating back to high school I would often tutor students on various subjects like math, chemistry, and, of course, music. I was known for explaining things to students that they couldn't understand the way that the teachers would teach it. Nowadays, I'm often tutoring my fellow music majors on music theory and I'm planning on starting a club next semester at my college to teach people music that don't want to learn in a classical teaching method.
