Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.
lessons are available in the following areas:
Instruments: Piano, Saxophone, Synthesizer, Lap Steel Guitar
I am new as a teacher, but am up for the challenge and opportunity to work with and inspire students to find their own self-expression as well as learn practical skills to help them reach their musical goals. Consistent practice is a key point, but more importantly pairing technical skills with music a student enjoys playing helps ensure a desire to keep learning and progressing. I'm looking to help students of all ages learn how to engage with and express their creative selves in a way that motivates each person to explore their instrument further. Read More
Instruments: Piano, Saxophone, Flute, Clarinet, Music, Keyboard
I like to begin all my students on a combination of technical studies and enjoyable/familiar melodies. This will help them learn the fundamentals in a rewarding way, because as they progress they will continue to learn new songs week after week. This is much more rewarding than checking of series of technical exercises. Additionally it is important to have both small goals to achieve each week and large goals to achieve over a number of months, so my students can be aware and proud of their progress over time. Every lesson I give is different, depending on how the student learns and how they’re motivated. My teaching style is energetic and positive, yet with realistically high standards. I truthfully love giving lessons, and students sense this. Positive feedback is always given before negative. I help students set specific, attainable goals so they can progress at their own pace. Also, I find out what other interests/hobbies the student has so I can make interdisciplinary musical connections. Read More

Age-friendly materials are my favorite to use. For very young pianists I often buy books with lots of color and large print like Kjos's Piano Party. Kjos and Alfred are two of my favorite publishers, but I am willing to work with materials your family may already own. Flashcards are an important tool for many children to become fluent at naming/reading notes. I also like to have students complete written theory assignments, and, to help students from getting bored, I often "reward" them with single pieces of fun sheet music that can be performed for recitals and competitions. Instruments: Piano, Voice, Saxophone, Flute, Organ
There are several different method books that I like to use with my students based on age, knowledge/experience, and of course if the method book they use is something they will enjoy; it's very difficult if a student doesn't like the book they're using so I try to give them options. For beginners, I like to use John Thompson's Easiest Piano Course or the Schuam method books. For additional practice and work, I like to use Schaum's Fingerpower and have the student write out the notes then recite them aloud while playing the exercise. Read More
