Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.
lessons are available in the following areas:

I've seen the face of an 80 year old grasping the ukulele and finally getting to hear himself playing his own songs, and seeing the glow in his eyes like a child. When you set realistic goals and set what steps are going to get you there, all the while celebrating each little victory, every lesson depends on the needs of my student. I am currently teaching solely for the fun of it and the challenge in it, as it is not my main career or main project, but it is something I get a lot from, and I have found over the years, has helped a ton of people get back into picking up their instrument, and cutting out the world for a bit. My teaching style is generally high energy, however I try to do what I feel is best for each student in conjunction with their parents. I like to build relationships with my students and their families that will lead to a positive reinforcing environment where my students can truly learn, have fun, and grow both as a musician and as a person. I like to see my students having fun but also really learning and retaining the knowledge. Read More

My methods vary according to the students interests and development. But I also have a guideline of references. For the beginners, I like to use Faber Faber, Boris Berlin's Four Stars, and some Alfred's piano methods. As we go to intermediate, I focus mostly on repertoire, sight reading, harmonization and, if the student likes, some improvisation. The books vary according to the student. For advanced players, the focus is in the repertoire, so probably we will be using performance editions for the repertoire, with preference for the Urtext (original text) ones. Read More

The first question I have for anyone of any age is, what do you want to learn? Adults often have a clear idea of what they hope to learn, and for that I have many books and methods I recommend for different instruments and styles. I am going to suggest a very different set of books for someone who wants to learn to play country guitar and sing versus someone who wants to play speed metal, and then a different set of books for someone who wants to be a jazz drummer. Instruments: Piano, Clarinet, Music, Keyboard
In the first lesson beginner students get an overview of the piano, learn their first warmups, get an idea of what they should do outside of our lessons to see the most progress, and discuss their goals as a musician and pianist/clarinetist. I mostly teach from Alfred's Basic Piano Library All-In-One Book series for students of all ages and supplement with other materials as needed. I usually am willing to work with any books students already have as well. Read More
