I like to get beginning students comfortable with their instrument and playing music as soon as possible. I use common method books such as Faber, as well as newer ones aimed to younger students such as Wunderkeys. I teach traditional reading and music theory, but also include a wide variety of outside materials to get students learning the necessary vocabulary to be their own observer. Then, depending on age and experience, I build a custom program for the student, which may include using various books, resources, and even materials which I have created.
