Instruments: Violin, Cello, Viola, Recorder, Electric Violin, Fiddle, Music

I started playing the violin when I was 7 years old after my mother’s passing. It was my outlet, and has continued to be my creative outlet for expressing myself in a positive light. I worked very hard to get to this point in my career, and it’s not for the faint of heart. I spent many hours practicing my craft. I studied under the most difficult, yet fantastic instructors around the area. Read More

Instruments: Piano, Guitar, Voice, Flute, Ukulele, Piccolo, Music, Keyboard

For beginning or new students I like to begin with the Faber and Faber lesson books, although I am flexible to use whatever methods course works best for each individual student. Once a student has some beginner playing skills and theory basics, I like to encourage them to pick songs that they enjoy playing. I focus on a combination of classical, Disney, pop, and jazz. I encourage students to practice on a regular basis, write in their music (if necessary), ask for help (communication with what is and isn't working is key to success), and to work in a step by step system to learning music. Instruments: Piano, Music, Keyboard

My teaching philosophy has five basic elements that I always follow: differentiation, engagement, feedback, ownership, assessment and questioning. I teach students with different music levels, backboards, and ages. I try my best to start with what my student can do then extend within student's own context, so each of my students is very unique and special for me. And I always hope to cultivate my students, especially young students to become a better person through their music learning journey which is how I learned most from my music teachers. Read More

I first started teaching seven years ago, while in high school. Upon recommendation by my band director, I began teaching summer lessons to elementary school students in my school district, and I’ve been teaching ever since. I’ve always found it most beneficial to be working on the music I’m the most passionate about, so I like to teach by combining method books with music the student is interested in. Read More

Some methods I would like to include in my teaching are introduction/development of IPA, which is International Phonetic Alphabet. The International Phonetic Alphabet is crucial for knowing how to sing correctly in a variety of langauges. I have experience singing in English, German, Latin, French, Italian and Spanish. Using IPA, it can give you the correct pronunciation of words in other languages. I have found IPA extremely helpful in my experience as a vocalist. Read More

It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
