Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. I first started teaching private lessons back when I was in college, shortly afterwards I started assisting with various public school percussion programs. After college, I was the Adjunct Professor of Percussion at The University of Texas of the Permian Basin in Odessa, TX. For beginning students, I focus on the fundamentals of music as such as note values, note reading, dynamic marking, and tempo. It is important that students have a foundation and in understanding how to read music. I will begin with a warm ups to develop ear training and pitch. My teaching style is taught with expectations. Although I aim to move at the student's learning pace, it is important to hold accountability on the student's behalf when we're not instruction. Consistent practice will be necessary for growth and I like to check in with students 2 days before next lessons to ensure the material has been understood and reviewed. From this point we can ensure progress. I started teaching music during college teaching private lessons part time 7 years ago. I focus on each individual according to their experience and push them beyond their initial limitations.
