Most of the pieces I chose on my own were movie scores or television theme songs such as The Wizard Of Oz, Star Wars, Titanic, and the Simpson's theme. I absolutely adored these pieces of art and still do to this day. Setting realistic goals is definitely a good place to start. Also, I encourage transcribing music in small sections, and to always start slow and take deep breaths, as this will reduce the student's normal anxiety and has done wonders in my own playing as well. Using a rhythm reference like a metronome or a drum loop while practicing is also a must, at it helps develop the student's groove. Internalizing music by developing the student's ear is also a very important part of my teaching style as Is applicable in any genre (hear it before you play it!) Read More

Each student interested in expanding their knowledge and abilities in voice, piano/keyboard or guitar will be introduced to reading music and asked to practice the lesson plan each week at home. With practice, you will see your abilities grow stronger and stronger, and you will be able to play and sing along to music with ease. We will be working from lesson books specifically designed for you, and each weekly lesson will be documented in a notebook as a daily practice reference guide. Read More

Seeing my students progress as musicians is the most rewarding part about teaching. Being a good musician does not only mean that an individual has good technique but it also means that they are able to portray their thoughts through their music and most importantly, having fun. I encourage taking things one at a time to ensure that my students are understanding and internalizing the musicality in each of the lessons. Read More

I am very fortunate to have worked with great teachers, who not only inspired me to play the guitar at a very high level but also to desire to pass on that knowledge to my students. I am very passionate about working with all my students. I strive to make every student comfortable, but gently nudge them to become the best musician they possibly can. I encourage students to get ready and perform on stage and in front of an audience as soon as possible. Read More
