I began giving private guitar lessons 5 years ago, in 2018. Since then I have taught both privately and at music studios. Classical guitar is my expertise, I earned both a Masters and Bachelors degree in Classical Guitar Performance at the University of Cincinnati, where I served as a Teacher's Assistant and taught multiple guitar courses. I emphasize the importance of developing good technique and a fundamental understanding of the basic components of music: major and minor scales, arpeggios, chords, modes and chord progressions. I believe that technical facility makes it easier to accomplish musical goals while developing musicianship. I began teaching years ago and have pursued it off and on over the years. I have taught in students homes as well as my own home. I encourage everyone to try to learn an instrument as an outlet for creativity. Practice is as deep as you want to make it, but if you are looking for serious improvement and development I suggest at least 30-60 min a day.
