I've been teaching people guitar since I was a teenager. I taught several of my friends how to play guitar or to play certain songs. Later, I began to teach from my home and eventually was offered a job in a music store. I've given thousands of lessons since I began teaching. I think it's important to teach students songs as quickly as possible while introducing some fundamentals like counting and giving them a number of different strumming patterns to work with. My methods are originated from the classical style of "no pick" and proper posture to various rock methods on electric to finger style accoustic. I would start my lesson with an in depth description of the guitar itself and how to tune and then enter the notes and with foot tapping rhythms. When I teach I don't simply have a One-Size-Fits-All approach. Every guitarist is different, with what they're good at, what they need to improve on, their likes, and their dislikes. Because of this, I use their interests to help propel them forward while incorporating personalized technical exercises that are designed to help them overcome challenges. Simultaneously, I sprinkle in Music Theory so that each student can gain a stronger understanding of harmony, rhythm, and layout of their instrument. Read More

I am an avid music lover, performer, and teacher. I was lucky to study piano from a young age and have the amazing pre-collegiate experiences of appearing on MTV's Made and opening for the likes of McCoy Tyner, Chick Corea, and Bela Fleck. I then received a scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA where I studied saxophone performance as well as piano, songwriting, and audio production. I then moved to San Diego, CA and opened for The Wailers, Nappy Roots, Eve 6, Steel Pulse, Shawn Colvin before touring the country. Read More
