Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

For vocal instruction, I draw from a variety of vocal training methods, depending on the needs of the student, and a variety of styles, depending on the student's interests. For piano and guitar instruction, I have a well-rounded approach, including theory, ear-training, and exposure to various styles of music. I teach music notation as well as learning songs by ear. I began teaching private lessons a year ago and have been consistently teaching private lessons at students' homes and in my home studio since then. I've discovered that focusing on students' own interests and love for music generates fun, engaging and rewarding lessons for them. Repetition and a consistent practice schedule is easier for students to continue when lessons are focused on developing the aspects of music that they love, or building skills that take them closer to their interests. The best plan is to always make room for fun as much as possible, because the harsh reality of practice can be a downer. I emphasize learning with the interest of the student in mind. It is best to be enthusiastic, but I make sure to see where the energy level of the student is to term the approach for the session. I first started learning the guitar in high school. I found I had an affinity for the instrument so I continued to study classical guitar and piano in college. I first started giving lessons my junior year in college and have continued to teach ever since. I am also currently the music director for the Yorba Linda United Methodist Church in Yorba Linda California.
