I have taught two generations of musicians already. I have coordinated educational outreaches to hundreds of students at local schools and blues festivals, giving everyone a chance to play an instrument and interact with music. It is pure enjoyment to bring people together and get them all thinking in one direction. People that have never played an instrument are able to enjoy the experience without added complication. I began teaching music lessons to my friends and peers who were beginning to take up new instruments(piano, bass, & guitar) when I was in middle school. At that time, I had developed a strong foundation in piano, begun learning trumpet in school, and self-taught myself the guitar. In high school, I taught younger students throughout the school district private lessons in trumpet through an organization called Arts Without Boundaries - many of these students took lessons with me for multiple years. I am a very passionate and enthusiastic guitar player and I am excited to start sharing my passion with others. I have been playing the guitar since I was 14. I come from family very musical family and have always had a love of the guitar. I love learning and mastering new songs as well as learning new techniques that I previously thought were too advanced for me. I find it very rewarding to finally master a new guitar skill. My teaching experience goes back to my early twenties while playing in Hollywood Ca. I have always had a student at one time or another. I built my studio in 2001 and have had a steady stream of students for private lessons. For teaching drums I own a Roland td 10 Midi Drum Kit. (see video). I rarely give technical exercises, instead I like to give students songs that they enjoy which will challenge them and keep them moving forward. Lessons are not regimented, but loosely planned.
