I have been teaching for 30 years. The exciting thing is that private music lessons provides an opportunity to get to know students on an individual level. As a teacher it has always been my goal to inspire my students to connect with music in a meaningful way. I do this by teaching at each students' own pace and setting acheivable goals along the way to encourage progress and to create an atmosphere where my students are able to succeed. I have a positive and encouraging music studio! I like to see students progress at all levels beginners through advanced. I love to get to know my students and use different books, songs, techniques, to really reach their level and motivation. I started playing the flute before 6th grade and instantly fell in love with the flute and with music. Inspired by the wonderful music teachers I had over the years, I strive to provide that same level of care, knowledge, fun, and passion for music to all of my students. In 2011, I graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Music degree in Flute Performance. I am originally from Michigan and moved to Indiana to earn a Master of Music degree in Flute Performance from Ball State University. Read More

Music has been a big part of my entire life. I began playing piano at the age of 5 and flute at the age of 10. I was involved in the music program in my church as a teenager singing in the youth choir and playing in the handbell choir.
