Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. My teaching experience goes back to my high school years when certain younger students would ask me about the flute and how to make a pretty sound. I used to sit on the lawn in high school and improvise a unique flute song. I always resonated with the holistic way of living and teaching. About 20 years ago, I was introduced to a hospital program that embraced "Healing Arts." That is a phrase that means holistic in nature while using the arts for a wellness response. Read More

My approach to teaching varies with the age level of each student. With younger students, imitation is often one of the best methods of learning and I prefer the Suzuki method for students up to age 8, especially with strings. For older children and adults, learning music notation and basic music theory for a full understanding of musical language are more important to get them to the level where they can learn any music that they want to play for fun. I love music and love sharing that with my students. I am classically trained and spent 3 years at Crane School of Music in Potsdam, NY and finished my music performance degree at UCF in Florida. While at Crane, I doubled on flute and oboe and frequently played piccolo and English horn for concerts as well. I was originally in music education and have that background as well.
