I'm a passionate and creative instructor who loves working with students of all ages and sharing my love of music. I graduated in 2012 from Indiana State University with Bachelor degree in Music Education. My primary instrument is the flute. I've played the flute for 14 years in various ensembles throughout the years. I've had great opportunities to work with children throughout my college years as well as beyond those years. I've had the opportunity to teach a week-long music camp, as well as bring a music supplement to YMCA after school and summer programs. Currently I'm teaching Elementary Music between 3 schools. I have used many methods books for piano and flute. When I started teaching lessons, I lived in a military town. Since these students moved a lot, I would continue teaching out of the books they were currently using to keep they're progress consistent. Teaching music is my life's passion. I followed that passion to earning a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of Evansville in 2011. Since then I have been teaching students of all ages and levels. Since earning my degree I have performed on stages across the country in pit orchestras, bands, choirs, opera performances and as a solo artist on various instruments including the voice. As a teacher, there is nothing more rewarding than seeing a student develop a passion for music. If my students do not leave every lesson feeling inspired, encouraged, and wanting to practice and play music, then I am not doing my job. Just as I tailor each lesson to match the individual student, expect the student to grow and develop as a musician at his/her own pace. I started playing the flute before 6th grade and instantly fell in love with the flute and with music. Inspired by the wonderful music teachers I had over the years, I strive to provide that same level of care, knowledge, fun, and passion for music to all of my students.
