I am just a guide in the process of their musical and characteristic developments. Because of this, I like to create custom lesson plans based on the student's needs. I believe it is important to know what the student wants to accomplish. If the student would like a more traditional style lesson, I have a variety of method books that I like to use.--Below are some examples of methods that I like for the flute:--Beginners: Essential Elements (I have found that this series is just one of the best out there for young musicians that are just getting started!) I have not yet started my teaching career but I am super excited to start gaining experience with all of you! I have taken a flute pedagogy class at my undergraduate, Gettysburg College and a woodwind and brass method class during my graduate studies at The Longy School of Music. I have much more experience performing and participating in summer flute masterclasses. I do hope to gain professional music performance experience by being in an orchestra, opera, or ballet, doing chamber music, and organizing small solo concerts. Read More

I use a variety of methods for my teaching style. I usually have a few method books that I bring to a first lesson, and after meeting the student I will decide on the best one. Once the student has progressed and shows some motivation to be slightly challenged, I'll introduce "popular" music so that the student feels a sense of accomplishment! In 1999, I graduated from Lebanon Valley College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education with piano as my major instrument. I began performing by singing in church as a child. I've participated musically in church worship services throughout my life soloing and accompanying choirs on flute and piano.
