I am a passionate teacher and performer who loves working with students of all ages. I completed my Bachelor or Music degree at the University of Iowa in Music Education and Flute Performance. I then spent a year student teaching and substitute teaching which taking auditions for a masters program. I am currently enrolled at the University of Georgia in Flute Performance. I have 10+ years of professional performing and instructing experience. I have pupils who have received high marks in middle and high school MSBOA solo and ensemble competitions for clarinet and flute. I have also been providing private lessons virtually for the past year. I have run a summer keyboard class where I instructed 4-10 students weekly. My musical experience is not limited to instrumental instruction, I have been a church pianist and Music director since 2010 serving 3 churches consistently where I directed the praise team and choir, made arrangements and taught parts. I strongly believe that students should be corrected and made aware of their mistakes when learning music or a new instrument, but I also believe that these corrections and criticisms can be delivered in ways that push students to better themselves, rather than make them doubt their abilities as a musician. I want to see all of my students believe, and thus I will give them all of the encouragement that they need to become the musician I think they can be, and I will make sure that they know that they are fantastic musicians.
