I'm a passionate instructor who cares deeply about a students education. In 2015, I graduated from West Johnston High School as drum captain in my band program. Since then I've performed in Alchemy Independent, an open class indoor percussion group. I've been with the group since 2017, and I have completed 2 seasons with them. For teaching I will start with basic technique and rudimentary skills needed to perform on a drum set. After mastery, I will start to incorporate other pieces of the drum/drum set into our lessons. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Basic Rudimentary movements. I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More

I focus on the student's preferred genre and songs, and I make theory work for those particular songs; i.e. I find common chord progressions, their related scales, and have students improvise using those scales [though I emphasize chord tones, syncopation and more ... equally, not just scales]). I am the epitome of patience, and I always seek to reassess a student's goals so as to hit the target as ideally on as possible (no sense in learning the complexity of jazz when punk rock is your only love!). Hi everyone! I have been involved in performing and recording music my entire life, primarily as drummer and percussionist, but also as composer/ songwriter/ multi-instrumentalist. After eighteen years as director of the Enrichment Center Percussion Ensemble, I am devoting myself full time to music creation and private music instruction.
