I have taught kids from ages 9 to fourteen, and am open to teaching anyone of any skill level. I also offer lessons in composition and recording/engineering music production. I encourage regular practice and make sure, especially for kids, that they leave every lesson with something new. I focus on learning how to be a successful musician all around, emphasizing on good technique, performance, and each student's individual sound. I would love to see my students care for his /her music/equipment the way I do. I will teach how to acknowledge their accomplishments and keep them motivated to keep going. Teach them the power of music. Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. My teaching experience dates back to 1990, when, while homeschooling my children, I taught drums and guitar as part of their curriculum. Since then I have given lessons on a part time basis. Through my experience, I have become skillful in identifying a student's strengths, weaknesses and learning style. My focus is on challenging students at their current skill level while encouraging them and making the process of learning fun. My musical experience dates back almost 13 years. I first picked up drumsticks when I was 7 years old, and I haven't been able to put them down since! Throughout my career so far, I have performed in award winning wind ensembles both in high school, and as extra curricular ensembles, like the North Carolina Youth Wind Ensemble. I have also performed in a variety of marching ensembles. From 2018 to 2019, I marched with, and got gold medals with the Carolina Gold Drum and Bugle Corps. Read More
