I have a great passion for teaching. I enjoy sharing my knowledge, and experience of music with everyone. I graduated from Rollins College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Percussion Performance in 2013. I am interested in all styles of music and I encourage my students to have an open mind; to make them well rounded musicians. I've found the best way to teach is to cater to each student's interest. While early or beginning players may require some fundamental grunt work, there is always a way to assure that it's fun too. Earlier students would need to start learning the basics: rhythm, learning to read, developing technique through scales etc. of which there are many methods. As students mature, I feel the Suzuki method for aspiring classical students is the best route (there are multiple books in this series) along with some other extensive and more challenging works. My method of teaching can vary from student to student, but my primary way of teaching is what I like to call, sound before symbol. Learning music is like learning a language. We do not come out of the womb and handed a dictionary. Instead, we listen, imitate, speak, and then learn how to read and write. I am a guitarist hailing from Central Florida. I love to just rock out to anything that sounds good from metal to country; if it sounds good I'll play it. I've been playing since the age of 6 and was heavily influenced by KISS, my favorite band. I play many styles of music including Rock, Metal, Blues, Jazz, Country, and Classical.
