I'm a licensed teacher that enjoys sharing my passion for music. In December 2016, I graduated from Lipscomb University with a Bachelor of Music degree in Instrumental Music Education. Performing as part of Cedar Creek Community Band, Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, and Orchestra Pit has given me a variety of experiences to inform my teaching. In 2012 I graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor's Degree in Jazz Studies. Since then, I have moved to Nashville, earned my Master's Degree from Belmont University in 2014, and have began my professional career as a freelance saxophonist. I have had the chance to perform and record in some of Nashville's most historic venues and recording studios. For every student, I take notes on what we've done and what I want them to work on for the next time, and I send them home with this information. I generally use a method book for teaching band or orchestral private students. I also use other resources depending on the needs of the student. I always ask my students what they want to achieve and base my teaching on those goals. ( Of course, I provide guidance in making some of those goals!)
