Hi, I'm Jane! I teach all levels of saxophone along with beginning/intermediate clarinet. I am also open to teaching beginning piano and ukulele. I graduated from Western Washington University in 2015 with a music minor and a self-designed Fairhaven concentration entitled Music, Inequality Resistance. My methods of teaching are based on where the students are at in there study of music. For beginners I like to teach them how to read music as they learn each note on their instruments. After that it really depends on what kind of music you want to learn, what you already know. Melanie is an active performer and educator in the Pacific Northwest. As a classically trained percussionist, she believes that a true educator must remain active in performance and growth to be the best possible. She has performed with a variety of large and chamber ensembles, notably: Talujon Percussion Quartet at the Lincoln Center Out of Doors Festival, Slee Sinfonietta, the Southern Tier Symphony, and the UB Percussion Ensemble at the June in Buffalo Festival. My teaching experienceis is this---I started teaching in High School, and taught at Hoboken School of the Arts for a while, 5years at Highline School District teaching music, 5years at Federal Way Schools teaching music. 7 years in Seattle teaching Clarinet Flute and Piano in the Central District, and at Washington Middle School (gifted students) I have happily taught for Musika for 9 years= clarinet flute, and piano.
