I'm originally from Venezuela and I moved to the USA to continue my music studies at Louisiana State University where I got my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Cello Performance. I have been teaching cello both in Venezuela and in the United States. I currently work as a cello teacher at Palacios House of Arts, in Baton Rouge. For beginning cello students who are children, I typically start with Suzuki method elements. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. My teaching experience began while helping at the New Orleans String Project when my sisters were learning Viola. In my off time, I would assist the teachers. Later I began giving lessons through some members fo the Greater New Orleans Youth Orchestra to which I have played and excelled through all of the group's sinfonia, Philharmonia, and Symphony.
