Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. While attending school in NYC, I worked directly with Lincoln center as a musician and composer for films, plays, and orchestral pieces. I am a relatively new teacher! I've been a musician all my life, but only recently started teaching children and young adults how to play instruments or how to collaborate musically. I have found that teaching is an important part of being a musician, and I'm very excited to find new students. I gave my first lesson when I was a sophomore in College, and during college I gave weekly lessons to about 5 students, each of different skill levels. During my time with these students I noticed that what I really enjoyed about teaching them was their passion for their instrument. I have also noticed that I would learn something from each student regardless of their level of musicianship, whether it be the recomendation of a new band or something that I picked up from their thought process when learning, such as how they go about learning a new concept or what they listen when they try to figure out the characteristics of a new groove or genre. Or even before begiining Band, if I find a student who is very well at reading Music, I will not hesitate to recommend that student for Band; sometimes as early as Grade 3.
