Every student is assigned music.  Beginning students often start in lesson books.  I use the Bastien book series for my youngest students, Alfred books for ages 6-11, and Bastien Books for students older.  As students grow and become more advanced I also assign solo pieces from other sources to supplement a students progress.  I tailor every lesson to fit a students particular strengths and weaknesses and no two lessons are ever the same.  For all levels I try to make the lessons fun and interesting. My approach to teaching is personal, flexible, and student-centered. I will start by finding out what the student knows already, and what the student wants to know. What kinds of music do they want to play, and why? (For instance: for fun; accompanying themselves singing; performing in front of people; becoming professional.) If the student can play some samples of songs they would like to learn, all the better. I am a performer and teacher from Denver, Colorado. I have been playing violin since 2009, and singing since 2016! I love to write and share music with others. My debut album, Amazilia, came out in 2019, and featured entirely original compositions, and I've been performing in Greeley for a little while now. I began playing the piano at the age of 3, my father was a musician, and my first teacher! I continued to study classical, pop, and jazz stlyes, and began performing at age 7, and teaching in high school. Since college, I have maintained a private studio, either at home or in pretigious music schools, and have also taught in the school setting. I started singing professionally at age 15. Through the years I have taught both private voice and piano lessons. I have also taught at Elbert County Charter School grades kindergarten through the 8th grade in general music education. I have served as the minister of music at St Paul's Methodist Church in Burlington NC, Aurora First Presbyterian Church in Aurora Colorado and at Providence Presbyterian in Parker Colorado.
