Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

While hearing something and being able to mimick it is important, being able to read music is a key factor when continuing to grow as a musician of all levels. I like to go over at least the basics of music theory with every student in bite-sized easy to understand pieces. This is in conjunction with our vocal lessons. At the same time I was learning percussion and drums in grade school. Two years later, I started singing and piano lessons from my musical mentor and friend Margery Heinz. I started my musical studies at a summer workshop coarse athe the University of Southern California where I studied Jazz performance. Then I attended a local community college in New England where I received my certificate of music and from there I went on to the University of Massachusettes where I received my associates of music education degree. If the student already has a grasp on the fundamentals, my focus goes to exercises that extend range, fine-tune timbral sound, build technical flexibility, and expand dynamic range. The repertoire is typically "suggested" by me (to reinforce learning objectives) but is not "officially picked" without the approval and enthusiasm of the student.
