I am a native of Russia. In 2001 I moved to the United States. In 2005 I became a US citizen. I studied music for seven years to earn my Bachelor of Arts degree in vocals and piano. I studied six more years in conservatory to obtain my Masters degrees in music performance and education. I love to teach and to see my students progress in their musical studies. Originating as the music teacher at a girl's club the summer after my college graduation, my music profession soon began. There my eyes were opened to the benefits music has on children. My teaching experience began around the age of 15, when I taught 2 beginner students piano lessons. I then taught throughout high school and my first few years of college in the Chicago area through the Judson Community School of Music. I love to encourage consistent, short practice sessions for beginners and focus on theory and technique, as well as encourage music to be fun. If the student is not enrolled in band at a public school, I typically use a combination of materials. Focus on fundamentals at the beginner level is essential for musical proficiency.
