In March 2014, Luis was one of only three students chosen to perform in a flute master class with virtuoso flute player, Sir James Galway. In 2013, Luis performed alongside his colleagues in Hong Kong, Beijing, and South Korea. In addition, Luis was the first-place winner in the 2013 New Jersey Flute Choir Competition. In 2012 he performed a Duo Flute Concerto with Andrea Rivera as winners of the Nyack College Concerto Competition. In 2016 he was invited to return to Asia for the 2016 Chamberfest Tour as the Artistic Director where he would oversee rehearsals, prepare programs, and perform chamber and solo repertoire in Hong Kong, Seoul, Macau, and Japan. I am a passionate and supportive vocal coach who loves sharing my knowledge with my students. Seeing them grow and succeed makes me feel happy. In 2016 I graduated from Saarland University of Music with a Bachelor of Music degree in voice performance and vocal pedagogy. After graduation I had opportunities to sing in various concerts, opera and musical theatre productions in Germany, Luxembourg, Bulgaria, London, Nicaragua and New York. For the younger students, I encourage practicing on a regular schedule consistently. The interests and enjoyments are very important in helping the students continue to learn and practice, so I would like the students to learn the music they like along with the music I recommend. After receiving an Arts Leadership certificate from Eastman in addition to my BM, I am a huge advocate for music in society and believe it is a universal language that anyone should have access to, no matter age, ability, etc. I want my students to feel empowered and believe that they have a place in the world of music, because there is room for everyone!
