I create a hands on curriculum based on the students musical proficiency. I encourage my students, whether private or the ones that I teach a school to practice on a consistent basis (have a consistent schedule for practice) because it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument or their voice. I've also found that a combination of different musical genres helps to motivate a student and allow them to have fun. Often this means scales, chords, arpeggios, music literacy, performance practice and listening skills. To accomplish this, I use standard materials that are often available online and are used by college and University music programs around the world.
