I absolutely love teaching music. I have experience teaching children as young as 6 and adults age 55. I have 20 years of experience playing music. The instruments I have experience playing are violin, viola, cello. I have been teaching for 7 years. I am the owner and Principle Conductor of Ovation Symphony Orchestra. If not coming for theory tutoring then I begin with Vidal keyboard harmony practice and then progress with 16th and 18th century counterpoint Composition lessons are based on scores or recordings the composition student brings in that they have written or are interested in. We discuss the composition and the students goals in writing the music and I recommend scores to look at as well as articles, book, and journals that are relevant to the students particular interests. Although this is my first official teaching job, I began teaching back in 2011 during my freshman year of high school. I had the pleasure of conducting and teaching both concert and chamber orchestra. I then became a student assistant my senior year and was able to do one-on-one's with the younger students. I primarily have taught children ages 4-12 in most recent years, but have experience and love working with adults beginners as well as intermediate and advanced players. I began running my own private studio at age 19 after completing Suzuki Violin Book 1 training from Edmund Sprunger. Since then I have completed Book 2-3, as well as various pedagogy classes as part of my university schooling, while running my private studio continuously making changes along the way. Read More
