My desire is for all of my students to know and learn proper technique. For beginner students, I will start with theory basics that are foundational to learning and can be directly applied to their instrument. Once they gain a basic understanding of the fundamentals, I will introduce more complete solo repertoire that they can begin to work on. Depending on the interests, learning desires, and level of the student, I will move forward with what interests them, though I may require some classical selections as I believe it to be a style foundational to a great musician. I am a performer and educator who is passionate about instilling a life-long love of music in my students! I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in commercial violin performance from Belmont University in 2021. Since, I have been writing/gigging/and recording with my own band called Northern Nightingale and playing with various artists in the Nashville area. I teach the with Suzuki method. The Suzuki Method focuses on the Mother Tongue Method and was created by Dr. Sinichi Suzuki. He, and I, believe that every child is able to play music beautifully. The method emphasizes listening and parental involvement. I look to find the balance between challenge and enjoyment for each student. I first began teachng bass guitar in my early twenties.  Later in life I worked in both Japan and Thailand, where I studied with master drum teachers and also top piano and violin instructors.  After returning to the United States, I entered a program to become a certified guitar instructor, and am the ONLY instructor in my area which has earned these certifications which are specific to several different points of teaching guitar.
