Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

My main goal in teaching music is to build a good foundation. Not all music students will go on to major in music, and that's OK. Music offers invaluable experiences for everybody involved, and I have seen music change lives. There is a lot of evidence that music helps in school performance and test taking, and there is evidence that music helps to build organizational and critical thinking skills. I like to build a positive relationship with my students, and I encourage progress in order to make students eager to learn more. Read More

While studying at the Conductor’s Institute in 1993, I had master classes with Donald Portnoy, Samuel Jones, Larry Newland, and Paul Vermal. I also studied with David Effron and Yuri Bekker at the Miami Music festival I am an active cellist and composer and has had works performed by the Colorado Symphony and in Romania. MY composition, “Theme and Variations for Orchestra” was performed by the South Florida Youth Orchestra in January of 2003, and “In Memoriam” was given its world primer at the University of Miami in 2007. *Please note: this is only a very basic overview of the materials we will use. Each student is welcome to bring orchestra music, music theory homework, or their favorite songs to learn in lessons. No two students' lessons will look the same, and I strive to make lessons as fun as possible. Strings: New strings students will start off with Essential Elements Book 1. I've also found that a combination of classical and popular music can go a long way in helping students enjoy any string instrument and motivate them to practice and continue to learn. If a student isn't having fun in their lessons, then I am not doing my job! I thoroughly believe in the practice cycle.
