When starting with a young beginner student, I typically start with the beginning Suzuki Method books or Essential Elements books. I will also work on school repertoire if applicable. Once they have advanced past the level of the Suzuki books, I will begin to introduce solo works appropriate for their level and desire. When teaching adults of varying abilities, my methods are much more tailored to their wants in terms of style of music, difficulty of the pieces and the speed at which they would like to learn. I got my Bachelors in music performance on cello, but I started on piano and violin when I was six years old. This is what I want my students to learn and to bring with it a passion for music they can have for the rest of their lives. For students who are already in an instrumental program through school, I will start with whatever method book they are using at school, and branch off from there. Depending on the instrument, I will bring in another method book specific to that instrument book and we will also use some sort of etude book. My name is Amos, and I've performed and taught all over the world. I'm excited to share my love of music with a variety of students.  I've performed in orchestras like the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas, performed recitals on three continents, and even spent some time teaching in South America.
