I have been teaching private music lessons for more than 30 years at my home and at my student's homes.  After I received my Master's degree I obtained my teaching certificate in vocal and instrumental music for grades K - 12.  I taught vocal music for the Jersey City Board of Education and later I taught strings for the  Kearny Board of Education.  I prepared students for auditions and recitals always encouraging them to practice and learn music theory and music history. My teaching methods include traditional and Suzuki technique with an emphasis on music theory.  Young students benefit from Suzuki technique using activities and games to foster learning.  For young beginners as well as adult, I start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements and String Builder and scale studies. Lessons include classical as well as popular music and are tailored to the need of the individual student.  By instilling a strong foundation in string technique and music reading, students progress quickly and have fun!  An education in music is an important part of a holistic education for all ages.
