I believe it is important that beginning students who do not know how to read music yet stay out of the books at first. Reading music and trying to hold the instrument correctly, having bow control, and paying attention to tone can be overwhelming. The first few lessons will be book free. Once I feel the student is able to read notes, we will begin in Hal Leonard's Essential Elements which also comes with a CD for easy at home practicing. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music and want to continue to play the violin not just as a hobby! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson and knowing the strength behind private lessons as opposed to group lessons only. The student is more likely to progress if they are consistently practicing and have private lessons with their teacher to develop technique and skill in a one-on-one learning environment. Read More

I strive to recognize the strengths whether this be performance, aural skills, or even music appreciation! Read More

For me it is essential that a student learn first all the techniques exercises and then start to create music. After that I started to teach how to respect the essential aspects in a piece: the fingering, the bowing, the dynamics, the tempo and others. Read More
