I've performed in several orchestras at the college level and competed in a variety of fiddle contests throughout the state of Texas, most recently the Fiddler's Frolics in Hallettsville, Texas. I have been a volunteer after-school violin instructor in the Houston Independent School District (Roosevelt Elementary, Gallegos Elementary, and Martinez Elementary) and local Jewish community centers. I encourage regular practice, as students who feel they are progressing and doing well tend to enjoy their instrument more. As they become more advanced, they are encouraged to start giving opinions on what they want to learn. When I entered college, I started teaching middle school students privately in the Waco area and teaching general music education in Baylor's OsoMusical program for special needs children. Marcela started teaching violin and viola when she was 18 years of age at Cartago's School of Music and the University of Costa Rica. Later on she created her private studio when she arrived in Texas in 2007 after finishing her music studies, which she continues to do until the present day . Born in Los Angeles, Andy started playing piano at age five and by age thirteen, he was studying the viola as well. He played in his schools string orchestra, the Conejo Youth Symphony, and was awarded the opportunity to perform at the Music Teacher's Association convention in Sacramento.
