Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

It depends! Everyone is different and Melissa’s goal is to tailor each student’s lesson depending on what work’s for the student, learning retention, and most important, having passion. When it comes to strings instruments such as the violin and viola, the common teaching methods would be Essential Elements book and/or Suzuki books. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! I tailor things to each students age, level and goals. I think anyone is able to learn an instrument and understand that we each learn and approach things differently. Some students are more oral or visual learners. I encourage students to practice at least four days a week and keep a practice log. Young stundents are rewarded by stickers for their weekly practice. Read More

I am a passionate and dedicated teacher. I have a gentle approach that works to develop confidence and skill. I am a violinist with over 30 years of experience, and also a mental health counselor. I got started working with children during my graduate education at Regis University, where I specialized in Play Therapy. During that time, I fell in love with working with children. Open-minded and flexible, Nerea strives for her students to learn through fun, hands on activities, always leaving her lessons with smiles on their faces. Beginner students are always taught the basics of posture, positioning and how to move the bow on the strings. They then go on to learn bowing and the strings names, followed by finger position and musical pieces.
