I received my BA in violin performance from the University of Colorado at Denver and also attended UNC where I received a viola scholarship. I play both the violin and viola, having the violin as my primary instrument. I have extensive experience in classical (art music), folk, opera, spiritual and new age styles. I began teaching music while in college after a peer approached me looking for voice lessons in order to improve her ear training skills. I immediately enjoyed facilitating and witnessing the progress of my student and decided to take on additional students. When I moved to Colorado, I was making music more and more and missed teaching.
