I am a professional violinist and instructor with experience teaching students of all ages. I graduated from Wayne State University in Detroit in 2014 completing my Bachelor of Music with a concentration in Violin Performance. During my education, I was selected to be a String Project Instructor, a 4 year teaching internship for violin and orchestra classes. I have performed at numerous orchestral and chamber music festivals around the world including Bowdoin International Music Festival in Maine, Zephyr International Chamber Music Festival in Italy, and National Music Festival in Virginia and Maryland. In my lessons, I take an integrated approach to music education, drawing connections between music of practically any style, genre, or tradition; between musical technique, analysis, and expression; and between music as an abstract entity (e.g., a score, an acoustic phenomenon) and the cultural and historical context in which it is both composed and performed. I work on music not only from the Western classical tradition, but also from pop, rock, jazz, and folk music from around the world, as I believe all musical styles are worthy of exploration and consideration. For beginning students, I start with Gerald E. Anderson and Robert S. Frost's All for Strings. Once the students made progression in basic fundamentals, I use the Suzuki Methods Books and Solo for Young Violinists by Barbara Barber. Along with that, I introduce the students to the chamber music so that the students learn to play with others. For adults, I try to provide the students in their interested music so that, playing music is fun and entertaining to them. Read More

Once the student has a clear understanding of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire and etudes. To make the lesson more engaging, I am flexible in regard to choosing music pieces that a student may want to learn or not. I usually ask a student if they have a piece they would like to learn. If yes, then I will teach that piece for my student. If not, then I can find pieces to get the student interested in learning. Read More

While enjoying all school music activities I was selected to join in honor county and state orchestras and choirs. In junior high and high school I was selected to play for the Junior Pacific Symphony Orchestra, received scholarships to music summer camps, and was selected musician of the year. In college my quest continued with the Orange Coast College Orchestra, Praise Symphony Orchestra, Vanguard University Orchestra as well as guitar ensembles and college choir groups. Read More
