I'm a very passionate and musically inclined person that loves teaching. I gratudated from Prairie View AM University in 2015 with a B.A. Degree in Music. I believe in learning the fundamentals but I believe that experience should be enjoyable. That's why we "play" music in the first place! This can mean different things to different students but a focus on positive reinforcement and encouragement toward specific musical goals will always be the guiding factor in my approach. Daniel has just completed his graduate degree from the University of Hawaii in 2012, with a Masters of Music Education degree with emphasis in instrumental music. While attending the University of Hawaii, he had the pleasure of working with Dr. Barbara McLain and completing his research study in Music Education. I am more relaxed and fun-loving, but I encourage quality musicianship. You enjoy something more when you have put in more work. More effort = more reward. Music really gives opportunities for each step of success to be met with ways to enjoy that conquered step, also. It's not so arduous as becoming an astronaut, etc., where you may have 10 or twenty steps in between enjoying their success. MY TEACHING EXPERIENCE DATES BACK TO THE YEAR OF 1991. I STARTED WORKING WITH STUDENTS IN HIGH SCHOOL, TEACHING THEM HOW TO BECOME A BETTER STUDENT OF MUSIC. IN THE LAST 22 YEARS I HAVE HAD STUDENTS TO MAKE ALL-AREA BANDS AND ORCHESTRAS IN THE STATE OF TEXAS. IN THE PRESENT TIME I ENCOURAGE STUDENTS TO PRACTICE 15 MINUTES A DAY INSTEAD OF THE LONG-GATED 1 HOUR PRACTICE. ALSO I ENCOURAGE THE STUDENT TO BE CONSISTENT AND 15 MINUTES AUTOMATICALLY TURNS INTO 30 MINUTES. Read More
