I am always very patient with all my students. I never try to put too much work on the student and always believe you should have more then one chance to get it right. Music is not a test and their is no failing, there is only the end result, which ends when the student makes progress, no matter how long it takes. I like to concentrate on my students abilities and ask that they bring 100% to their lessons as most of the lesson time is spent on the instrument; some lessons may be more informative for students interested inan in depthunderstanding of music theory. No matter my students age or initial skill level, whether they are a college student, a child, or an adult, I work to bring out their potential and guide them towards a fresh passion for music. I treat each student as their own individual and guide them along at their own pace. I have taught privately now for over a decade, as well as in classrooms and given masterclasses to all ages. I worked with pre-K through to the collegiate level in Philadelphia. I also work in communities, bridging gaps geographically and ideologically through musical experiences. I have taught in the United States, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. After graduating college, I was the resident trumpet at the Barter Theater in Abingdon, Virginia, before completing three contracts as a show band musician on board Celebrity Cruise ships. I have toured Europe with my university's top jazz ensemble, as well as toured the United States with two different professional drum corps, Carolina Crown and Jersey Surf. I have taught at summer camps and after school programs, and I just love to share my love of music with others. Read More
