I am a highly motivated, hard-working, and outgoing individual. Whatever instrument private studies we are working on, a balanced approach of performance, literature, theory, and technique are studied. Once the groundwork is established, we even work through composition on their chosen instrument. Students work at their own pace. I have some students who move quite swiftly through their levels, and that is great. Others may need more time, and that is fine. I do find that students who utilize regular and purposeful home practice will tend to get through levels a fair amount quicker. Read More

Music, at its most basic, should be fun, and I try to impart that to my students. Lessons with me involve jokes, fun music, and taking our music making to the extreme. In addition, I strive to teach music as a language; learning it both aurally and visually, developing an ear for music and self-evaluation while learning to read the notes on the page. I also see it as my duty to model what the student musician should strive to sound like, giving them an ideal sound in their head through frequent modeling. Read More

I have performed all over the Front Range and throughout Colorado for almost 50 years. I direct a community orchestra and have played my trumpet in Jazz, symphonic orchestras, and bands for almost 50 years.
