For beginning students I use essential elements and elementary cornet methods. As students progress to more intermediate level I begin introducing the Arbans, Clarke, and method books from Stamp and Schlossberg. These methods are a great gateway into advanced playing and contain methods for intermediate to advanced players. I ask them to bring any materials they have and will often recommend books and supplemental material I have had success with. I'm a life-long musician and am extremely interested in passing my knowledge on to others. Currently I am a band director in the Pueblo, Colorado area but have lived all over the United States and played trumpet extensively for over 2 decades. I was trained as a trumpet player at DePaul University, UAB, and most recently at the University of Alabama, and also have experience composing and arranging music.
