Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

There is nothing more inspiring and rewarding than watching a student grow. For that reason, I meet students where they are. After an initial assessment of knowledge and skill, I began tailoring lessons for each student individually depending on their skill level. Typical lessons would include a relevant theory mini lesson, teacher playing demonstration, and teacher guided practice. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. I use a variety of methods customed to every student that interacts with me.-One method is to practice drills targeting your weaknesses in the way you play.-Another method is a piece of music that targets your weaknesses.-Another method is leading by an example of my playing.-Another method is to guide you with my explanations of how you should be playing the music.-I will usually spend my own money to purchase more tools needed for my lessons. For beginners, I personally recommend the Essential Elements Book. If you are barely starting on an instrument, make sure you get book 1. Aside from the fact that I was taught with that book when I was in middle school, I taught with that particular method book to my beginners in the 2021-2022 school year. For intermediate students such as older middle school students, Essential Elements Books 2 and 3 would be my personal recommendation. Read More

During the first lesson, I get to know the student, find out their interests and determine which course will be the best start. The most important thing for all students is to keep the lessons engaging and fun. Piano: For younger beginning students, I typically start with the Alfred Basic Piano Library. Older beginners start with Alfred's All In One Piano Course. For adults, I find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly. Read More
