I graduated from the Puerto Rico Music Conservatory with a bachelor in trombone performance. For beginning students, I prefer to use Essential Elements by Bruce Pearson. This is the book I learned from and have been using to teach. I enjoy this book because of its progression system and the incorporation of solos throughput instead of just exercises for the students to play through.
