Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

I cater my teaching to the students needs as an individual and their goals. I am interested in fostering their inate musical abilities, as well as the musical skills they wish to obtain. If the student is in a school instrumental program, I always defer to the band director as the student spends more time with them. I will take the students progress seriously, and expect them to do the same, so I make sure the expectation to practice is clear. Read More

I began teaching in Mississippi in 2011 to college students at the University of Southern Mississippi. After moving to Cincinnati, I began teaching preschool music. I began developing a preschool curriculum at the University of Cincinnati's Preparatory Program that combined reading, dancing, singing and imagining. After teaching privately for a year, I began my position as Executive Director of the Cincinnati Outreach (COR) Music Project. I love teaching because I believe most, if not all, people love music and can learn to love making music. I want it to be fun for them, to keep them interested. I believe that a set of expectations on the student is required to keep them motivated, but I am never upset or disappointed if they don't practice enough. I think keeping them involved in music is the most important part, and I know that many students will not pursue a full time career in music, but music is valuable to them in so many ways. Read More

My general pedagogical goal is to set students up with lessons that can be interpreted to other parts of life. Learning discipline, focus, problem solving skills, awareness, and interpretation in the practice room is useful in every aspect of life. Another goal is to develop the student in such a way that a passion for music and the arts is grown. Each student is different and has different goals; by trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. Read More

I began teaching privately in my sophomore year of high school. I had always known that I wanted to become a music teacher, but this is the time of my life when I really started discovering my potential in the education community. Students that I have worked with have achieved Superior Ratings in OMEA Solo and Ensemble events, have been part of various honor bands and extra-curricular groups. My goal is to get students to become independent in their musicianship, learn how music can effect everyday life, and how they can share the joy of music with others. Read More
