I make sure the student fully understands everything that is expected of them, and will instill a strong sense pride in my students success. For beginning students I like to start with the same book I learned; Essential elements by Hal Leonard. This book comes with a play along that serves as stimuli to the young ear. A compliment and more flute oriented book is Flute 101-103 Which ranges from beginners to medium-advanced students. I am very passionate about music. I love to teach and pass along what i know so that others can continue to create music for profit and personal enjoyment. I am a very low pressure teacher. If you are not enjoying your time then no one is benefiting from the lessons. I use a marker board, books, a metronome, paper and pencils etc to tech lessons. I do not send home "homework" but i will assign practice exercises for students to do between classes and will check on the progress and results when we meet for our next lesson. Read More

Each student is different, so I try to personalize their lessons. I like for every student to have at least one solo piece to be working on.
