Every student is different. My experience has prepared me for that. I am encouraging, but also patient. My instruction will be tailored to each individual student's needs, interests, and desires so that they can progress on their own musical journey at their own pace. Most importantly, I want to encourage my students to take their talents out of the practice room and into the world whenever they can. Whether it's taking a solo to a contest, joining a community band, or performing for their parents in their living room, my students will be encouraged to have a lifelong love of music. Read More

There is nothing more rewarding than watching a student grow as a musician and person overtime. Establishing a personal connection with them to create an environment of success is one that is always a concern of mine. Doing so will allow the student to soar to new heights and present a challenge for me to continue fostering their growth. They learn from me and I also learn from them. I always create a unique lesson plan for each student based of their age, skill, and most importantly the music style or genre they want to pursue. I approach every genre with a strong foundation in order to make repertoire more approachable, such as learning a variety of scales, developing good tone, and working on method or etude books to strengthen the range of possibilities on their instruments. I will always take in the student's interests to make lessons fun and engaging while developing a strong drive and passion towards creating music. Read More

I grew up in the Cincinnati area and graduated from Fairfield High School in 2005. I began my college career at the University of Cincinnati as a Mechanical Engineering major. While at UC, I rediscovered my passion for music and felt a calling to share that passion with others in the best way I knew how: teaching. I transferred to Ohio Northern University, and graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education. Read More

One of the reasons I love private lessons so much is because we can go at the pace of the student. We can explore different styles of music the students enjoys, and also styles that may be new to them. If a child is in band, I usually will ask them what they are working on in band so I can continue to help them in that area, while also exploring pieces of music on our own. Read More
