My first true teaching experience happened around the age of sixteen, which was by tutoring my siblings friends and preparing them for NYSSMA. I found this to be a truly enjoyable experience and realized that this was a passion that I wished to pursue in the future. I have taught private flute studnets since my Graduate School days, in 1994. My studets have reached NYSSMA level 6 and have played at college and scholarship auditions, NYSSMA solo festivals, in-house festivals as well as many other occasions. Originally from Montana, I moved to New York City five years ago to pursue a degree in jazz performance at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music.
